The song was a nationwide hit in the summer of 1994 with a catchy rhythm and dance which people could enjoy and take part in. The song stayed at number one in the charts for a total of four weeks. It sold 680,000 copies in the process, sold a total of 1,092,250 copies and is currently the 65th best selling single in UK chart history.
The song is still played as a popular dance number and people of all ages know the simple dance moves. It is an excellent example of a song which has stood the test of time in still being a popular and remembered by a wide audience.
